In the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, will present the new MINI Clubman. With six doors instead of the five that had the previous generation, more space, power and size. Share with Hatch mechanical version. And yes, the "mini" whenever it is becoming less.
Following the tradition of the brand, MINI is presenting at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September to the variant they claim is a "shooting brake" and for some, do not know how to classify. This is the new Clubman, which uses the platform UKL1 bearing the F56 MINI Hatch and the BMW Active and Series 2 Grand Tourer.
But not only opens platform. It is also larger than before. The new MINI Clubman measures 4.25 meters long and 1.8 meters wide, which is 27 cm long, base 10, and 9 cm wide compared to the MINI 5 doors. The trunk has 360 liters, expandable to 1250 liters with the rear seats folded in 40:20:20 ratio. To access the cargo space, as is tradition in the Clubman, there are two doors that open in opposite ways.
Inside the Clubman promises a five-passenger cabin, which automatically raises the question, why the range continues to have a five-door version of the Hatch approved for five people, and another model like the Countryman, which is also a five-door, five?
And this question becomes more relevant if we see that the model lost the door "Door Club," which opened as opposed to the march, now embracing traditional four side doors. While I am a fan of the brand, as everyone knows, these things puzzle me every day.
But out of my doubts, let's see what is new in the Clubman interior. There is a new interior design concept with a coating elliptical around. Speedometer and tachometer are on the steering column and the central control panel in a circular harmoniously integrated, interactive wears a ring LED illumination.
Now the center console has an electric parking brake, with various slides, two cup holders, the MINI Controller and command center armrest. For those traveling in the rear seats no air conditioning vents or heated front seats and finally add the option to be adjustable electrically, a novelty in the MINI range.
As standard, all versions feature system Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDLC); in the MINI Cooper S Clubman, further with Performance Control. Specific adjustment of the damping and suspension for this model. Sporty chassis and dynamic control system of the suspension (DDC) optionally available.
At the time of launch of the new Clubman will be three versions, all with mechanical MINI TwinPower Turbo technology; the MINI Cooper D Clubman (2.0 turbodiesel four-cylinder 150 hp), MINI Cooper Clubman (1.5 three-cylinder turbo 136 hp) and MINI Cooper S Clubman (2.0 turbo four-cylinder 192 horsepower).
There will be standard with a manual gearbox six marches, and optionally, for the first time in MINI, is the possibility of a box Steptronic changes eight-speed (MINI Cooper S Clubman and MINI Cooper D Clubman) and box eight-speed Steptronic changes Sport (MINI Cooper S Clubman). The MINI Cooper Clubman can optionally carry a six gear box Steptronic. Numerous solutions MINIMALISM technology, including Auto Start-Stop function and optionally GREEN mode.
It will go on sale in Europe in October. And while it was not yet confirmed their arrival to our market, it is likely that in the course of next year, the new Clubman (known internally as F54) arrives in our lands in order to complement the MINI range.
