Tuesday night unveiled her BMW to the second generation of the X1. Known internally as F48, the official presentation will take place at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. We know all the details, images and video, after the jump.

And finally came the second generation of the X1. BMW made it official this week, and as you can see, although there is a certain conservatism in design, it is a completely new product. For example, the platform used is the same that lead the series 2 Active Tourer and Grand Tourer, called UKL1 as well as the current and future MINI Series 1. On this basis, they may choose both front-wheel drive versions as an integral xDrive permanent.

The interior design of the new X1 maintains the orientation of the dashboard of the previous generation, but with a slightly closer to the Series 1 and 2. The Advantage, Sport Line and M Sport xLINE variants will be offered as an alternative to the basic equipment, and specifically to personalize the vehicle according to taste and pocket of each client.

Among the new equipment shows the BMW ConnectedDrive with Head-Up Display, the Driving Assistant Plus system, which includes Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, warning of unintentional lane departure, assistant driving retention traffic, warning of danger to the vehicle ahead approach and warning for pedestrians, with braking function in urban traffic.

There will also be full LED optical variable sport steering and Dynamic Damper control optionally available. M sports suspension available will be offered as optional equipment. BMW also promises improved agility of the BMW X1, thanks to the low center of gravity of the vehicle, and the almost perfect weight distribution between the two axles 50:50.

There are also developments in the permanent all-wheel drive system xDrive. It is equipped with an electro-plate clutch regulation, promising a precise distribution of drive power between the two axles according to the dynamic behavior of the vehicle.

When you start producing plant in Regensburg, Germany, the X1 will come with both petrol and turbodiesel variants. Among the first shown BMW X1 20i, riding a 2.0 four-cylinder twin-scroll turbo capable of 192 hp between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque from 1,250 and up to 4,600 laps. They may carry sixth manual gearbox or automatic Steptronic eight, front- or permamante integral.

The turbodiesel will all 2.0 twin-turbo and be called xDrive 25d (231 hp) xDrive 20i (190 hp), and finally the sDrive 18d (150 hp). In the immediate future will be added two mechanical.
