To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Volkswagen decided to present in Frankfurt the Clubsport version, which provides as a novelty a mechanical 2.0 TSI 265 hp which features a "boost" function increases power to more than 290 hp for few seconds.
Early next year, the Golf GTi, will celebrate its 40th anniversary. the German brand will commemorate this historic event with a special edition called Clubsport. Now, Volkswagen presented at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt (IAA) to GTi most powerful production history.
With this, the Wolfsburg brand continues the great tradition of commemorative models, as the 20th, 25th, 30th and 35th Anniversary also had its corresponding exclusive special edition. The turbocharged direct injection engine and the new commemorative model delivers an output of 265 hp, which represents an increase of 35 hp compared with conventional GTi. But this is not all. For a brief time-about 10 seconds at a time-the driver can increase by an additional 10% engine power 290 hp and overcome thanks to the "boost" function. This added power is activated by simply stepping on the accelerator.
Reaches 100 km / h in 6.0 seconds with the manual gearbox six-speed (5.9 with dual-clutch DSG) and has a top speed of 250 km / h (249 km / h with change DSG double clutch). The levels of fuel with the manual transmission are 6.9 l / 100 km, while if the power is transferred through the dual clutch transmission DSG, the figure is 6.7 l / 100 km.
To distinguish him from his brothers, the Volkswagen Golf GTi Clubsport is painted in "Oryx White" (other colors available), but the roof area is black, in contrast. For this model, designers outside of Volkswagen have created a completely new front bumper, new side skirts, a new rear diffuser, a new roof spoiler and exclusive super light alloy wheels.
Following the style of the Clubsport are optional alloy wheels "Bresica" 19-inch, specially designed for the new model, or black mirror housings with glossy finish. The rear lights, in turn, lead LEDs dark black-red.
The interior details like red stitching, the gearshift knob shaped golf ball and the roof line of black color. It also comes standard with racing bucket seats with Alcantara partially covered and furnished in a honeycomb design in the backrest and padding; back, the inscription "GTi" also appears. Seatbelts are highlighted by a red line. Meanwhile, new decorative stripes design "Honeycomb 40" (in the instruments, center console and doors) give the interior an even more special image.
